CONSERVATION

Our biggest project of all has been the campaign to get Conservation Area status for the whole of The Old Meadows. We first discussed this many years ago but at that time thought it would be too much for us to handle. However we again discussed this in 2016 and approached the City Council Heritage Officers to discuss this. A lot of really hard work was involved including putting the history of the area together, taking dozens of photographs, holding drop-in meetings and then collating this to present to the City Council for consideration. Conservation status was granted in 2020 and we heartily thank our residents, Councillors and Heritage Officers for their support and help with this project.
