Approximately 25 were in attendance.
Invited guest Sophia Kourpas, Greenspace Development Officer, NCC was unable to attend but gave a written report, which was read at the meeting. Residents had the following discussion:
A resident felt No Mow May makes it difficult to find dog litter.
Councillor Michael Edwards (ME) said last year weather pattern was strange, extended growing season, equipment broke down, and cricket teams weren't paying (i.e. cricket was not mowed because of lack of bookings).
A resident was concerned about redevelopment at Queens Walk Rec.
ME said NEMTRA would be consulted and so would children.
A resident said her child was not included in the paddling pool consultation, saying that Welbeck were asked to be included but that the Headteacher says the school said yes but didn’t get any follow up.
ME said this was not true and would check with the headteacher that there hasn’t been one member of staff that has taken it on without their knowledge.
A resident asked what’s happening with the construction site near Wickes.
ME said the sight was being prepared for development.
Committee member John Crosby (JC) asked about the crossing at the road that connects Robin Hood Way and Riverside Way.
ME said that there was concern but no actual accidents.
There was no report but an open question time with CPO Megan Waddingham (MW)
A resident expressed concern about food being left out in pans with tin foil.
Another resident raised concerns about feral cats being fed.
MW said that there were pest officers.
Councillor Eunice Regan (ER) said that the issue was not unique to the Old Meadows.
ME said that 2 addresses on Beauvale Road were being "actioned".
A resident thanked MW for her support with getting local issues sorted.
Councillors gave a verbal report with the following responses
A resident asked whether any of the housing to be built on Waterway Street would be affordable.
ME replied that the market is driving high prices.
Another asked whether it would be student accommodation.
ME replied that it wouldn't be.
A resident asked about the signage for the electric charging point(s) on Victoria Embankment. Another asked about street charging options.
ME responded that it is a challenge putting them in front of people's houses but offered to look into the signage.
ME warned that a consultation was coming for parking permits on Robin Hood Way.
Secretary Pat Greenwell (PG) asked when it would be coming and urges residents at the top of Glapton Road to give their views.
A member of FOML spoke about the risk to the Meadows Library highlighting the letter that could be completed and that the portfolio holder had received over 300 from the Meadows and was reading them all.
ME confirmed that the council has not made any decisions yet.
