Drug related Crime
Neighbourhood Policing team and Op Reacher have conducted 7 misuse of drug warrants across the Meadows in last 90 days.
There are currently 6 people who have been arrested, 2 have been remanded to prison, 4 are on police bail.
Housing Closures / Nottingham City Homes
Neighbourhood Policing team have been successful in applying and obtaining 7 Closure orders on Nottingham city homes addresses across Meadows which are linked to repeat ASB , Drug supply and Drug Production offences.
The areas covered are:
· Houseman Garden
· Manifold gardens
· Phoenix close
· Lammas gardens
· Wilford crescent west
· Tarbert close
· Blackstone walk
Shop Theft / Bridgeway Centre
Police have been conducting patrols and beat surgeries in the area and working alongside retailers to reduce crime and improve reporting to identify prolific shop theft offenders.
3 Criminal behaviour orders have been issued in relation to shop thefts at Bridgeway Centre Co Op, barring persons from attending the precinct and Coop Stores
Community Protection Team
Proactive patrols of Arkwright walk play park and Mundella Rd park and embankment have been completed. Scott Clancy will update with figures.
OP Haversack
Police have used covert and Overt tactics after the Murder of Michael O’Conner on Wilford Crescent West Meadows to prevent and disruption supply of Class A drugs in the meadows.
9 individuals have been sentenced in total to 260 years in prison for murder and assisting offenders, Police have worked with NCH ASB team to repossess the properties of those involved and reduce community tensions and fears across WCW area.
Knife Crime
Op sceptre patrols and knife sweeps of Meadows area completed and 4 knives have been recovered secreted in bushes around meadows. A Knife arch operation was conducted in Bridgeway centre on 18/11/2023 outside of Poets Public house no weapons seized but 2 persons were arrested for shop theft in Bridgeway centre.
Crime is up 6.35 per cent compared to this time last year, please see the below recorded crimes for the last 90 days.
· Violent crime – no serious incidents of note
· Robbery – 1 reported in the last 90 days
· Burglary – 1 reported in the last 90 days
· Theft – 79 reported in the last 90 days
· Theft of motor vehicle – 4 – 1 reported in the last 90 days
