Having enquired about changes to bus services affecting the Meadows, OMTRA received the following information from councillor Michael Edwards:
Service Navy 48: Clifton – Queens Drive – Meadows – City
From 19th June reduced frequency from every 15mins to every 20mins.
Before the tram extension to Clifton, frequency was every 7½ mins; the route was change post-tram to take in Electric Avenue off Queens Drive. There was some growth in passengers between the retail park and Clifton and crucially, carried lots of Experian staff between Electric Avenue and the City. Post-pandemic those Experian staff haven’t returned.
Service 48 is just about covering its direct costs at the moment, so no further changes foreseen.
Service Green 11: Lady Bay – Meadows – City Loop
From 19th June, the frequency was reduced from every 12mins to every 20mins.
This has always been NCT's weakest route to West Bridgford but the frequency reduction was initially driven by driver shortage; that the round-trip time has increased from 48mins to 60mins, drivers have had more time to complete the route which has aided reliability.
Service 11 is just about covering its direct costs at the moment, so is unlikely to change again in the short to medium term.
